MISSION STATEMENTDaisies Kindergarten is a private faciltiy providing both part-time and full-time places for children aged 0-5 years. We are registered to accommodate 60 children.
All children are welcome to our setting and we will accommodate any special needs.
The nursery is open 7.30am-6.00pm, Monday to Friday and open for 51 weeks of the year.
This is reviewed regularly to meet the needs of working parents.
We do not operate a waiting list.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVESWe at Daisies Kindergarten provide childecare from birth to five years of age. We providee part-time & full-time childcare on a first come, first serve basis.
Under The Regulation of Care Act 2001, the Care Commission was formed in 2002. The Care Commission has 6 key principles, which make up their standards, which we at Daisies are fully aware of, respect and follow.
We aim to provide childcare for all children aged 0-5 years, ensuringthat each individual child's needs are met.
We aim to provide a safe, secure and welcoming enviroment for all.
We aim to provide a stimulating learning environment, which offers a range of resources to suit each the ages of our children.
We follow a curriculum for our 3-5 year old children, which complies with local and national guidelines.
We aim to involve parents/carers in their child's progress and development.
The nursery will play an active part in the community and liase with organisations.
We provide a range of toys and resources in our nursery that reflects the diversity of our community, in order to provide posotive images for our children.
We will treat all individuals with dignity, respect and value ethnic backgrounds.
We will evaluate our staff on a regular basis to ensure children receive the highest standard of care. Perspective employees go through a rigorous interview process to ensure suitability to the position.
SERVICES WE OFFERWE OFFER AN ARRAY OF ACTIVITIES TO FILL YOUR CHILDS DAY
FOR BABIES, we offer a stimulating daily routine to compliment their ever changingdevelopment. ACTIVITIES are ever changing to stimulate and entertain. We folloow the Birth to Three Framework. The nursery has a large amount of Double Buggies, allowing the children to go out daily for walk;s and visits to the park etc..
FOR CHILDREN AGED 2-3 YEARS, we offer a daily programe in line with the stage your child is at. This includes activities such as stories, physical play and group time, as well as time for 'free-play' (children are able to choose ther own activities - water and messy play,art, house corner, various toys) there-by enhancing your child's confidence and self-esteem.
The children go out on walks on a daily basis (trips and outings are displayed in the nursery foyer)
The Senior Nursery Nurse will be happy to discuss and plan the commencement of toilet training for your child, allowing the nursery and home enviroment to work togather and make it easy as possible for your child.
FOR CHILDREN AGED 3-5 YEARS we are in partnership with Dundee City Council and follow the NATIONAL CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK for all children aged 2-5 years. The daily programe offers an extensive range of activities which is complimented through 'Childrens Choice' as well as structured play. The children are out daily for walks. Group Times are provided as part of their daily programe, twice daily, allowing your child to interact in small group activities with their key workers.
Key Workers play a vital roll in your childs development, and will liase with you regularly. Regular assessments of your childs development is recorded, enableing us to provide you with a development report twicw yearly, which you are very welcome to dicuss at 'Parents Evenings'
PERSONAL HEALTH AND HYGIENE STATEMENTWe at Daisies encourage the children at this nursery to be an actively involved in their own personal health and hygiene.
We encourage exercise wherever possible and children go out for walk/play daily.
We agree with local guidelines that each child should eat five fruit and vegetable portions per day. With this in mind, we provide each full-time child with their five portions per day, and part-time children with three portions.
We encourage children to wash their own faces. We provide 3 facecloths a day for each child allowing them to wash their face after each snack time and lunch time.
MEALS
A full-day placement includes an AM snack, a Two Course Lunch and a PM snack.
A morning place includes an AM snack and a 2 Course Lunch.
An afternoon place includes a PM snack only.
All food is prepared and cooked on the premises, a copy of the Weekly Menu is displayed in our Foyer.
We partisipate with the local authorities in the Tayside Nursery Supported Tooth Brushing Programe. Each child is supplied with their own toothbrush (age appropriate) and toothpaste. This is intended to supplement tooth brushing at home. Toothbrushes are replaced at regular intervals throughout the year.
It would be much appreciated if parents would encourage their child at home, particularly with the care of their teeth and with eating fruits and vegetables.
